Caterham School, recently recognised as the Independent Senior School of the Year 2023, is a top-10 co-educational school in the UK and educational leader, based in Southeast England. Established in 1811, the school is set on a stunning rural 200-acre campus in the Harestone Valley, providing a privileged experience for its boarding community of 175. Conveniently located just 45 minutes from central London and close to major airports, Caterham is both a Prep School and Senior School comprising of 1300 students aged 3-18. Renowned for stellar academic results, the school embraces a progressive, research-based teaching approach, emphasizing pastoral care. Exceptional facilities, a wide range of extracurricular activities, and a modern educational philosophy solidify Caterham’s status as one of the UK’s premier co-educational schools. Outstanding GSCE and A Level results have positioned Caterham as a top 10 independent co-educational schools in the country, renowned for its outstanding maths and science provision. Headmaster

Ceri Jones is Headmaster of Caterham School, HMC co-educational day and boarding school in Surrey, named as Times Educational Supplement’s top UK Independent Senior School. Ceri founded and remains a Trustee of the Access & Accelerate Foundation, a university access programme established with the Sutton Trust and Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge.

Prior to leading Caterham, Ceri was Second Master at Tonbridge School and was also Head of a state maintained academy.

Ceri Jones attended Cambridge University, where he read History and was awarded a full Blue in football. In 2015 he was awarded a Distinction in a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Buckingham.

Ceri continues to teach History at A Level and specialises in Modern American history and early modern literature and religion. He is passionate about innovation in education, reflected in Caterham School’s multi award-winning focus on digital learning.
