Tonbridge occupies a 150-acre site in Kent, just a 40-minute train journey from London Charing Cross. The School is home to around 800 boys across seven Boarding Houses and five Day Houses. One of Tonbridge’s defining strengths is its ability to combine tradition with innovation, encouraging high-achieving boys to wear their talents lightly.

Tonbridge has an international reputation for providing an education that fosters creativity, intellectual curiosity and independent thought. From 2028, the School will welcome day girls into a co-educational Sixth Form, with boarding places for girls following in 2030.

The School was also an early pioneer of mindfulness in education, with ‘Mindfulness in Schools’ first developed at Tonbridge.

The co-curricular programme offers considerable breadth and depth, with societies and activities ranging from Beekeeping to Ultimate Frisbee. Alongside this, the School has a strong commitment to widening access and is working towards doubling the number of boys receiving means-tested fee assistance.

Through its Think 25 initiative, Tonbridge encourages pupils to consider where and who they want to be at 25, supported by mentoring and careers guidance that extends into their university years.
