Dauntsey’s School

“A thriving co-ed boarding school with outstanding facilities in beautiful Wiltshire and a fiercely loyal alumni, celebrated for its unpretentious and warm atmosphere, where adventure education stands out and the arts flourish, together with consistently strong academic results”

About

Dauntsey’s is a leading co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 11 to 18, combining academic excellence with a strong spirit of adventure. Founded in 1542 and set in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside, Dauntsey’s offers a forward-thinking education rooted in tradition.

Academic ambition lies at the heart of all we do. Our pupils are stretched, challenged, and supported to achieve their best. With a broad and flexible curriculum, including a wide range of GCSE and A Level options, we provide the foundations for top university applications, in the UK, US, and worldwide. Expert teaching, tailored guidance, and a vibrant intellectual environment ensure that pupils leave Dauntsey’s not only with strong results, but with curiosity, confidence, and independence.

Beyond the classroom, we offer an outstanding co-curricular programme, including music, sport, drama, sailing, and adventure. These opportunities develop teamwork, resilience, and leadership, all essential qualities for success in life and learning.

International pupils are warmly welcomed into our full boarding community from Year 7 onwards. Our houses are more than just accommodation: they are safe, supportive homes where pupils are known and understood as individuals. Strong pastoral care, English language support, and a thriving international society help pupils settle quickly.

Dauntsey’s is a school where pupils are encouraged to aim high, explore widely, and grow into capable, compassionate global citizens. We combine high academic standards with exceptional care, helping every young person to find their path and fulfil their potential.
