Radley College

"One of the few remaining traditional all-boys, full boarding schools which is highly regarded by parents as a school where boys flourish with superb teaching, close pastoral support and a huge range of excellent sports and activities on offer, including its very own golf course"

About

A Radley education is for life – its caring, close-knit community, founded on Christian and holistic values, has always inspired boys to become outstanding young men, passionate about what they do, with the qualities and character to create a profound and lasting impact on those around them and on the world in which they live.

Radley College is one of the only three remaining full boarding schools in the UK for boys aged between 13 and 18. Founded more than 175 years ago, the College is proud of its tradition and yet celebrated for its innovation and dynamism. Radley is renowned for added value, outstanding pastoral care and strong community – every boy is known as an individual, and the daily evening Chapel and House Cocoa sessions promote the sense of family that is so special to Radley. It is an environment where boys thrive academically and make the most of an enormous range of opportunities on offer – be those our impressive sporting and music facilities, our Art and Design Engineering studios or the vast array of societies and lectures on offer.

Here at Radley we celebrate academic ambition, independent thought and critical thinking. A Level results for 2022 were 77% A*-A and at I/GCSE 87% were grade 9-7. The College offers a wide range of subjects at GCSE and A Level, including Drama, Design Electronics, Computer Science and Geology. Alongside our A level provision we also run the Sixth Form Curriculum Extension Programme to encourage breadth and depth – courses include music technology, international relations, film studies, robotics and a Mini MBA.

71% of our Sixth Form candidates went on to Russell Group Universities this year and 10% to international universities, particularly in the US. This year 12 boys will be going to Oxford University and we have been delighted with early US offers this year from prestigious universities such as Stanford and Harvard.

Radley is ideally located within an hour’s drive from Heathrow Airport and an hour and a half from London. We are fortunate to be situated in a stunning rural campus inspired by the city – and university – of Oxford, just 3 miles away. We celebrate our diversity as a school and educate boys from 38 different countries.

We hold a number of Open Days throughout the year where you will meet the staff and boys and see the school in action. Bookings can be made via our website. We very much look forward to welcoming you to Radley.
