White House Guardians

White House Guardians (WHG) was started in 1992 by the Hume family and today continues to be a family business. We offer guardianship to students across England, Wales and Scotland as one of the largest and oldest Guardianship companies in the UK. We offer local support to students with a network of local guardians known as Local Guardians within one hour of all our students, so there is a White House presence close to every school where students are in our care. This means that we can be at school quickly and offer host families and other services locally.

Placing students in host families is an essential part of our work. We have over 400 host families spread across the UK, all recruited and registered by WHG. We regular inspect our families to make sure we offer the most comfortable home away from home to our students.

WHG undertakes checks which provide a report from Police records, Social Services Departments, and Child Protection registers on all our staff, host families and taxi drivers.
From our multilingual Head Office, we monitor students’ welfare, travel and host family arrangements. We have a 24 hour 7 day emergency service, which is always answered by WHG staff from Head Office.

White House is a Gold-Standard-Accredited member of AEGIS (Association for the Education and Guardianship of International Students), ensuring the highest level of care to our students.
